The man behind the store, manager Craig Lord, said since restrictions had eased, he had seen a flood of regulars back instore.
“After all this time you’d think there would be a ‘normal’ winter, but as we all know the last three months have been as far away from normal as we could get,” Craig said.
Reduced hours and changes in operating conditions have tested LORDS Fashions, but they are looking to emerge better and stronger.
Craig said he was pleased by the comments and support he’d received from customers.
“At this stage it is hard to say what the new normal will be but at LORDS we will always be striving to be better,” he said.
“We have winter markdowns across the store with prices reduced to clear to help everyone’s budget through these trying times.”
Located at 198-200 Hare St, in the heart of the town, it is safe to say the business has come to know the town’s pulse.
Craig said LORDS not only provided quality clothing and manchester, but quality service too.
‘‘We have large ranges across all divisions of stock in men’s fashion, men’s business wear including suits and business shirts, ladies fashion, children’s fashion, sportswear, ladies lingerie and manchester. Our ranges cover just about every category of fashion you can think of,’’ he said.
‘‘Our workwear department, LORDS Workwear First, has all the wanted quality brands including ELWD, CAT, Bisley, Yakka, Blundstone and Australian Made Mongrel Boots - we can also do embroidery and printing for your personalised and business branding.’’
Craig said the team aimed to give its customers the best experience possible.
“We have great staff who are all committed to help our customers,” he said.
‘‘Being in the middle of the main street of Echuca we do get a lot of tourists through our doors and it is from them that we get all of the comments on the uniqueness of our business - particularly the great variety of stock.
‘‘But our best support is from our local people.’’
‘‘I think the local people appreciate that support we give and they give that support back to us by shopping at a locally owned business.”
‘‘There’s been big changes in the main street in the past six to eight years. A lot of local independent stores have closed down and their spots have been taken over by the multinationals. We are keeping that local element going.”
