Hosted by the Deniliquin Pastoral & Agricultural Society - the same committee that brings us the Deniliquin Show - it will again have a ‘make, bake and grow’ theme.
Deniliquin Show Society president Chantelle Shevels said this weekend’s event will build on the success of the Show Society’s first market last year, and the tradition of a Mother’s Day market under previous hosts Naponda and the Conargo Mother’s Day Market committee.
“The idea of the market is to give locals the chance to showcase their wares and a platform for locals who don’t have full-time market access to sell their products,” Mrs Shevels said.
“We’re looking after stallholders by giving them the opportunity to sell what they ‘make, bake and grow’ without having to pay expensive insurance fees, as the markets are under the Deniliquin Show Society umbrella.
“We have more stalls already than last year, with over 40 stalls confirmed as of last week.”
New to the market this year will be a ‘children’s zone’.
“With a $5 wristband, children will have unlimited access to the jumping castles and petting zoo.
“So parents can bring their kids along, and can receive some downtime and enjoy a day at the markets.”
The dog events will be back again this year, and a professional photographer will be on site to snap a beautiful pic of your family.
“We’ve got photographer Maddy Charlton, and for $15 you can update your family photo.
“Bring your furry friends along, bring your family along and spoil your mum this Mother’s Day.”
The market will be held at Memorial Park this Sunday, from 9am to 3pm. Entry to the market is by gold coin donation.
