Mr Ellis holds a Bachelor of Sustainable Communities (with Distinction) and is currently completing a Master of Urban Planning at UTS by distance while working in the planning sector in Albury.
He is also running for the seat of Albury at the 2027 NSW election.
"I am excited to be endorsed by Sustainable Australia Party as its candidate,” Mr Ellis said.
“Having had many conversations at local markets and events over the last month or more, the community has identified affordable housing as the number one campaign issue, particularly for younger Australians, women in crisis and pensioners.
“We need affordable housing now, the sustainable way.
"This is an extremely competitive election, and I understand that minor parties like SAP are not backed by billionaires, political funding companies or big unions, but equally, our grassroots style of campaigning is authentic and community-first."
Mr Ellis said the best way to make change was to get involved in the community and particularly politics and that the SAP independent community movement had a science and evidence-based approach to policy, which was the best antidote to left or right ideology and culture wars.
