The program is now in its fourth year and seeks to develop the skills of young swimmers around the Murray River.
The week-long program includes the following disciplines.
“Water safety around inland waterways, safe swimming (survival swimming), rescuing/towing, education about being safe around water, healthy lifestyles and community safety,” a spokesperson said.
“We run two sessions for an hour each at 9am and 10.15am, and 60 children can attend per session.”
Due to the limited places available, families are urged to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
“Enrolments are currently open and are filling fast, so book now through our Campaspe Aquatics website,” the spokesperson said.
The program is only held during the January holidays.
“This is a dedicated school holiday program which only happens in January.
“We run Learn to Swim programs at the Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre throughout the year,” the spokesperson said.
“The program is only run annually, for one week in January 2024, the dates are January 15 to 19.
