Plenty of action off the green at the club during the past few days.
On Thursday evening, the club hosted the annual presentation night of the CVBD with 80 bowlers and friends present as all enjoyed fine hospitality and a great meal.
On Sunday, the club held their annual presentation night featuring several highlights.
Club president Russell Shawcross and lady president Kath Palmer welcomed all in attendance including the CVBD chairperson and BowlsVic director Pat Schram.
Palmer introduced Schram to speak and present super veteran badges to Margaret Davis and Betty Mustey.
Details of the contribution that both ladies had made towards the club over several years of involvement were listed.
Davis and Mustey responded stating that they had enjoyed the friendship and being a member of this special bowling club.
A further highlight of the evening was the presentation of a life membership certificate to a tireless worker of the club, Tom Davis.
Club president Russell Shawcross invited a somewhat surprised Davis to the rostrum and then detailed the contribution that Davis had made to the club over the past 30-odd years.
Davis had taken on the role of club president on two separate occasions between 2008 and 2010, then later in season 2016 to 2018.
Tom occupied the position as club treasurer from 1997 to 2007.
In between Davis had competed in pennant as skipper, team manager and umpire.
Other achievements included winning the B grade championship in 2002-03, runner-up in the club championship, and club delegate to the former CVBA and CVBD.
Davis had been instrumental in the upkeep and presentation of the club surrounds and has also acted as bar manager for many years.
Davis said he had enjoyed being part of the club and had met many friends and bowlers on the journey throughout.
Congratulations to Tom — a worthy recipient of the life membership bestowed upon him.
