On Saturday, February 4, the Motley Crue Tocumwal Motorcycle KanAssist Kruze will take place, raising much-needed funds for cancer charity CanAssist.
CanAssist is a grassroots, non-for-profit organisation which has operated in regional towns across NSW since 1955 and tries to ensure communities, families and individuals have equitable access to cancer care and support services.
Organisers invite any riders with a motorcycle regardless of make or model (the bikes must be road registered) to take part.
The ride will begin at 11am at the Farmers Arms Hotel in Tocumwal with a egg and bacon breakfast provided.
The road trip will then commence and go around Finley, Berrigan and Barooga before returning to the Farmers Arms.
The full round-trip will take roughly four hours, finishing at 3pm.
Drinks and a display of the bikes will take place after the ride.
Registered sponsorships can be made via CanAssist prior to Saturday, January 4 or on the day.
Garbo Haberfield, who helped come up the idea, said he believed a social event was the best way to bring the community together and raise awareness about the scourge of cancer.
“I came up the idea last year to have a nice cruisy ride and generate as much funds for CanAssist as possible while spreading awareness around the other communities about cancer and the support that CanAssist gives”.
CanAssist on average raises more than $2 million annually for NSW residents living with cancer.
