Berrimba Childcare Centre visited Echuca library for the 25th annual National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday, May 21.

Deborah Frenkel’s picture book The Truck Cat, illustrated by Danny Snell, was chosen this year to be read at the same time Australia-wide for the event.

The Australian Library and Information Association chooses an age appropriate book each year for storytime that explores meaningful themes.

Victorian Local Government Minister Nick Staikos said reading was a powerful developmental force for children.

“That’s why I’m so pleased to read this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime book, The Truck Cat, a heartwarming story about identity, loneliness and home,” he said.
