Police arrest man over COPS Echuca theft

A MAN who allegedly pulled out a Stanley knife during a theft at an Echuca computer shop last month has been arrested.

The 28-year-old was arrested on August 28 and charged with theft and carrying a controlled weapon.

The Echuca man was bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court on December 2.

The man is accused of stealing a phone at COPS Echuca on August 21.

When confronted by a staff member, the man allegedly pulled out a Stanley knife from his pocket.

No threats were made and no-one was injured.

The phone has not been found.
