This is according to a spokesman from the club who said officials were thrilled with the outcome of Saturday's race meeting
‘’After a somewhat lean period, the club has now got several new officials and an energetic committee and at the moment the future of the club looks bright,’’ he said.
Punters paid about $630 at the gate to witness the six-event program run under close-to-ideal conditions.
Officials said gate takings were up on the previous meeting, but about average for a Moama race meeting.
They described the result as ‘’pleasing’’. Punters and bookmakers had a fairly even day with favourites winning three events and lesser favoured horses three.
Feature event on the program, the Moama Cup over 1600m, was an easy win for favourite, Saccade.

Echuca High School is seeking the assistance of local employers with its work experience program for this year.
The school wants its fourth form students to gain experience of working in a job situation for two weeks of the school year.
Work experience co-ordinator at the school, Mr K. W. Stockwell, said there were two reasons for this:
To introduce students to the sorts of jobs available in the district.
To give students a clearer idea of what full-time work is like, and what happens in particular offices, industries and services.
Mr Stockwell hoped the program would help students choose jobs in which they would be happy and that employers would gain contented and more productive workers.

The Pizza Hut restaurant in Ogilvie Avenue, Echuca, closed its doors on Friday.
But Pizza Hut will continue to have a presence in the city.
The Pizza Hut chain is looking for a site closer to the central business district to establish a ‘’delco’’, a Pizza Hut outlet which offers off-premises take-away and deliveries, but no dining facilities.
Chris Creed, marketing director for Tricon Restaurants International, which owns KFC and Pizza Hut, said the decision to close the Ogilvie Avenue restaurant was made by the Echuca franchisee.
Mr Creed said the Echuca Pizza Hut restaurant had a staff of 26, including delivery drivers.
Mr Creed said all the full-time staff at Pizza Hut in Echuca would be taken care of and they were in talks with KFC about finding jobs for Pizza Hut part-time workers.

It’s a last resort but Cohuna doctor Peter Barker is prepared to take one for the local team in his determination to get funding for the local hospital.
Which has been waiting years to receive a mere $16,000 from the Victorian Government to upgrade vital equipment.

So when that same government set aside $250,000 earlier this week to protect penguins in St Kilda, the hospital’s veteran doctor was stunned.
‘‘Maybe if I dressed up in a penguin suit they would consider allocating us money,’’ he said.
So that’s exactly what he did.
‘‘It was great the government acted quickly to protect endangered animals, but what about endangered people living in regional areas?’’

The Moama-Echuca Border Raiders start their Bendigo Cup run in the region’s amateur soccer association on Sunday with a first-round tie against Tatura at Jack Eddy Reserve.
And club president Rob Foran sounded like an upbeat guy ahead of the opening match.
‘‘We’ve had great numbers throughout pre-season,’’ he said yesterday.
‘‘It’s probably the first pre-season where we’ve got to the other end and haven’t had a real attrition. We might lose one but gain two players at a time, for example.’’
