The sand sculpting features two competitions, with the first running on Saturday, January 31 and the second on Sunday, March 1.
Murray River Council tourism, events and marketing officer Kristy Hayes said she was excited to bring the sandcastle competition to Moama Beach.
Both events will begin at 10am with an exclusive tutorial by a professional sand sculptor, who will share techniques and creative secrets to transform ordinary sand into extraordinary art.
Following the tutorial, teams will test their creative and sculpting skills by building their own sandcastle.
“I’m really looking forward to judging the entries and seeing the creativity and imagination families bring to their sandcastles — especially with some great prizes up for grabs. I suspect it’s going to be difficult to choose a winner,” Miss Hayes said.
The program also features free Sandsation Sand Art Workshops for children where they will create their own colourful sand art masterpiece.

All tools are provided and no prior experience is needed to participate in the sandcastle competitions and art workshops.
