After many months of planning, the sell-out Motherland event will be hosted at the Deniliquin Town Hall tomorrow.
Motherland’s mission is to eliminate the crippling isolation many rural mums face by connecting them to a supportive online community.
It provides a virtual mothers group program for rural women with children aged all the way up to 18, regardless of their location.
Working with local ambassadors to arrange an in-person event, Motherland founder and CEO Stephanie Trethewey says the Deniliquin forum will celebrate the strength and stories of rural Australian mums.
Special guests include well-known TV presenter Catriona Rowntree and former Deni woman and Homegrown Kids founder Emma Hawkins (nee Clapham).
Joining them on the panel will be two Deniliquin-based professionals - Murray Irrigation staff member, River Region Early Education chair and Rice Growers Association board member Emily Small, and Deniliquin Physiotherapy and Sports Injury owner Johanna Murphy.
Event host and Motherland Village ambassador Fiona Waters said the event doubles as a fundraiser for Motherland, which has supported thousands of women from all corners of the country since it launched in 2019.
Popular are the Motherland Connect platform, Motherland podcast, Motherland Village program, Scholarship Fund, events and advocacy.
“We know the challenges of living in rural and regional areas, but we also know the value of community and connection through programs like Motherland,” Mrs Waters said.
“I’ve seen the difference Motherland has made to the lives of locals, and if we can give back by paying it forward, it means even more mums can access the services and support they need.”
