St Augustine’s held its Easter Liturgy in the last week of the school term, staying true to the theme of the event “Know, Love, Serve”.
The Catholic Social Teaching leaders of the school have led a range of initiatives to raise funds in the past 40 days that will go towards Project Compassion, which is part of the charity Caritas.
The whole school focuses on trying to raise money for the charity with Project Compassion beginning on Ash Wednesday at the start of lent, which is six weeks before Easter.
It’s a long-running annual fundraising campaign run by catholic schools, parishes, and the wider Australian public who participate in a diverse range of fundraising activities and events.
Money raised goes toward helping to try alleviate poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity in the most vulnerable and marginalised communities in the world.
This was the first time in a couple years all students, teachers and family members were able to all gather at the same time.
Principal Jay Sutton thanked all the staff, students and families for everything they have done this term and look forward to bigger things in next term.
