Independent agency Metropolis Research will conduct a phone-based survey, helping the council to track how well it is meeting community expectations.
Mayor Daniel Mackrell encouraged residents to take part if they received a call, as the survey plays a central in role in shaping future planning.
“We want our community to feel confident that these calls are legitimate and to know that their input genuinely influences council priorities,” he said.
“Your feedback highlights what we’re doing well and where we can lift our performance, helping us continue improving the services you rely on.”
Mobile and landline phone numbers have been sourced independently to ensure a randomised and representative sample of the shire.
All responses remain anonymous, and a comprehensive report will be compiled and provided to councillors and the public.
The council emphasised that calls would be legitimate, and residents would never be asked for personal identification or financial information at any stage.
A requirement under Local Government Victoria’s reporting framework, the survey also provides an overall measurement of the council’s performance.
Cr Mackrell said the results pitted the council against others in the state, providing a valuable benchmark.
“These surveys allow us to understand how we compare and, more importantly, what our community expects from us,” he said.
