Among those recognised during National Volunteers Week were the hard-working volunteers at Echuca Regional Health.
New Echuca Regional Health volunteer co-ordinator Lisa Ellerton, who herself started out as a volunteer, welcomed volunteers to a recognition morning tea.

‘‘This year’s theme is “Connecting Communities’’ and I honestly can’t think of a better way to describe what you (the volunteers) do,’’ Mrs Ellerton said.
‘’You’re the smiling faces that calm nerves, the listening ears that lift spirits and the helping hands that keep this place running with compassion.
‘’You might not always see the ripple effect of your kindness, but to every patient, every family member, and every staff member you support — you make a difference.’’
In the past 12 months, volunteers at ERH have contributed 3264 hours of their time — an average of 272 hours every month.

Volunteers are active across nine departments, including Glanville, the Cancer Wellness Centre, rehab and the emergency department.
‘’A special mention must go to our “Crafting for a Cause” heroes, who might not be on-site but whose impact is truly heartwarming,’’ Mrs Ellerton said.
‘’You may not wear an ERH badge, but you’re absolutely part of this community.
‘’And finally, a heartfelt thank you to ERH leadership and staff for their ongoing support of the volunteer program.
‘’Your commitment ensures that volunteers are not just welcomed — but truly integrated — as part of our workforce and our wider hospital family.’’
