The three-week promotion has seen locals fill out coupons across town to go in the running for shop local gift cards that can be used at any participating stores.
There’s a total of $5250 in gift cards to be won, with $1000, $500 and $250 cards up for grabs each week.
And Chrissy said she’s still in shock after finding out she’d scored the top prize for week one.
‘‘I was home sewing when I found out,’’ she said.
‘‘The person who called said they were from the Riv and I was thinking, ‘Why are you calling me?’
‘‘Then they said I’d won and I got very excited and was just in total shock.’’
Chrissy is a regular at South Fabrics, where she submitted her coupons.
‘‘I rang Liz (Taylor) here at South Fabrics and told her and she was excited one of her regular customers won,’’ she said.
‘‘I buy fabrics here and do a sewing class here. I think I had two or three tickets in so I was very lucky to get one out.’’
And how’s she planning to spend her prize?
‘‘I have no idea,’’ she said.
‘‘Might share it around in a few of the businesses and get a few different things.’’
Nanneella’s Jodi Dobson is the lucky winner of the $500 gift card and Echuca’s Carol Martin scored the $250 prize.
