Mr Anderson is one of the youngest store managers in the group at just 29 years old.
But that doesn’t mean he’s short on experience, having been wearing the red shirt and the green apron for 13 years.
Mr Anderson started at the Shepparton store when he was 17, working on the registers and stacking shelves.
“Once I finished school I went full-time and took on more responsibility. I worked in a lot of different areas of the store and learnt how it all works,” he said.
“After Shepparton I opened the Epsom store, assisted in opening the Swan Hill store, did an extension in the Wangaratta store and assisted at the Mildura store.
“After that I went to metro stores, working in Sunbury for three years and Taylors Lakes in Keilor for the past three years.”
Mr Anderson said he was proud to be offered the Seymour store manager role and enjoyed the chance to move closer to his hometown.
“It’s a special position to get a new store. Seymour has embraced Bunnings and there’s been lots of locals coming through the doors and people from out of town,” he said.
“I’m enjoying the role because it means I get to help both customers and train and coach other staff.
“I want to help people follow the same path I did. Bunnings’ retention rate is huge and that’s because of the great culture that’s been built.
“I put the uniform on every day because I love coming here to help people.”
