Agriculture-related organisations have been asked to apply for membership of the Agriculture Consultative Committee, to provide feedback on issues facing the agriculture industry and strategies to enhance communication.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is seeking expressions of interest for appointment for a two-year term, covering 2020 and 2021.
“We established the AgCC to provide a forum for members to raise concerns on behalf of their organisation, provide feedback on specific issues, seek information directly from commissioners and staff, and hear about work we are doing of relevance to the agriculture sector,” the ACCC Agriculture unit said.
Members are drawn from a range of backgrounds and industries within the agriculture sector including peak bodies, industry associations and industry advisers.
AgCC members will attend and contribute to two meetings a year, usually around May and October, which are chaired by the ACCC's commissioner Mick Keogh. The deadline for applications is Friday, February 28.
