An honest assessment from Echuca co-coach Simon Maddox after his side's 115-point win against the Shepparton Swans on Saturday afternoon.
The Murray Bombers were dominant in their 15th victory of the season, but for Maddox, there is still room for improvement.
"For eighty per cent of the match we were brilliant," he said.
"There were also some patches where we weren't at our best. About 15 minutes into the third quarter it was one goal for us to two goals to the Swans for example.
"We were able to find our way back almost straight away, and we probably kicked the next five or six. It's not a great look against a side like the Swans, but if you have a patch like that against a Kyabram, they will destroy you.
"It's a minor thing, for the rest of the time I think we were sensational, but it's something we would like to work on and make sure were are on top of."
The win was Echuca's biggest of the season, the first time the senior side have claimed a win by more than 100-points in 2019.
And in kicking 24.16, it was also one of their more accurate efforts.
"It's great to see the side performing really well in front of goals," he said.
"But there is still work to be done. Our finishing and execution wasn't perfect, so it's another thing we will be able to work on in the next week as we get closer to the finals."
With a first week final against Kyabram now just 13 days away, everything Echuca does is about being as ready for the Bombers as possible.
But an opportunity to trial some new combinations on Saturday was thrown due to injury.
"We lost Corey Gregg in the opening quarter and weren't able to get him back before the end of the game," Maddox said.
"Noah Wheeler and Tim Allan both took knocks late, so it stopped us from making a few changes we were thinking about.
"There were a couple of different ideas we would have liked to see, we didn't get the opportunity to try them, so we will look at them at another time."
That other time will likely be this week, with Echuca to take on Shepparton United in their final match of the home and away season on Saturday.
