While the return created more convenience for the twin towns, tri club members were just happy to have their course back, after sacrificing the bike leg for the 2019 race.
“It makes a huge difference,” race director Kelley Walker said.
“Most people really love getting on the bike, it's the favourite stage for a lot of our competitors. So being able to complete the full event is something everyone is looking forward to.
“The numbers we get on Wednesday nights when we run our triathlons are really strong - it shows how much people want to be a part of the sport of triathlon.
“They love to compete and we are really excited to be able to offer the full event.”
Preparations for the 2020 Echuca Moama Multisport Weekend are ramping up, with Saturday morning's junior duathlon and Sunday's Wharf to Winery swim once again to feature in a huge weekend of sport for Echuca-Moama.
Walker said the ongoing preparation had begun to really hit its stride.
“We've been working on this for about three months, but it really picks up now.
“We are starting to get a lot of registrations for competitors coming in, and having a look forward the weather looks like it will be great which will hopefully see the numbers increase even more.”
The race is likely to draw some of the strongest performers from across the state, but organisers are hoping to once again see a strong local presence on the winners list.
“I'd keep an eye out on Maddy Clarke,” Walker said.
“She's going to be right up there in the women's race, and we also have a few local teams who are looking really strong as we get closer.
“With the men its a pretty open one, it's anyone's race at the moment. But that's a good situation.
“There are a lot of great competitiors who will push for the win, so that will be a really good race to watch."
