A post on the Rochester Football Netball Club Facebook page revealed, league officials were targeting a return to action on Saturday, July 18.
"The GVFNL is still aiming to start play on July 18, playing an 11 round season with the grand final on Saturday October 17 or Sunday 18," the post said.
"This is reliant on crowds being allowed as it is not country football or netball without crowds."
On Sunday, in a Facebook post Echuca said it had agreed to allow its GVL teams start training under strict COVID-19 restrictions from Monday, June 1 with final approval required from Campaspe Shire.
"The Committee have met over the past week via zoom to review the Return to Small Group Training Protocols and ensure that we recommence group training in a safe and productive manner whilst complying with all necessary requirements," the post said.
"The overriding principle for our return to training will be “Get In, Train and Get Out” observing social distancing and good hygiene practices at all times. The change-rooms will not be available in the initial phase.
"The club has elected to take a shared responsibility approach to the COVID Safety Officer responsibilities, all club committee and coaches will have completed the COVID-19 Infection Control Training prior to training recommencing.
"All coaches were briefed on Saturday in respect of the guidelines and protocols which are required to be adhered to in our return to training.Echuca Football Netball Club
"Our club coaches are now working to organise and structure training to accommodate all players in the best possible way, they are all energised by the prospect of returning to training and our players are genuinely excited about the prospect of returning to group-based training.
"It should be noted that any player who does not feel comfortable with this scenario that they are not obliged to attend and will be excused from training.
"All Netball, Senior, U/18 and U16 football teams will return to train initially, the club has elected to take a staged approach with other junior teams hopefully allowing them to return to training following the successful implementation of the senior teams return to training and a further easing of restrictions."
