The state government will allow competitions to begin on July 20 for seniors, with full contact training able to begin a week beforehand.
Juniors will be able to resume training and competition from June 22, as will all non-contact sports.
It follows NSW announcing a July 1 re-start last week.
The GVL had a desired restart date of July 18, while the Picola District Football Netball League was working towards July 11.
While not naming a date, the MFNL had also confirmed its intention to start a season.
Echuca Football Netball Club president Ash Byrne said the lifting of restrictions to allow competition to resume was exciting for clubs across the state.
“It's a great outcome,” he said.
“It's a good step which gives us the opportunity to ramp up our preparation as a return to the fields and courts gets closer.
“There's now some light at the end of the tunnel for the competition.”
The major issue of crowds however remains somewhat up in the air, despite the government hinting at potential changes.
The GVL and MFNL have both stated that crowds are a must for their seasons to be viable, while multiple PDFNL clubs have broken ranks to express concern about playing without a crowd.
But Byrne said confidence was growing on that front as well.
“We are seeing things move in that way,” he said.
“When you have talk of having 10,000 at the AFL in a couple of weeks time, that starts to open things up for our community sports.
“We still have six or so weeks until community sport is able to start, so there is a really good chance we will be able to have at least that 500 spectator mark allowed into grounds by then, which makes the season a genuine possibility for clubs.”
Executives and clubs from across local leagues are continuing to meet regularly on the start of the season.
