It was a comprehensive performance at both ends of Blighty Recreation Reserve, with the Cutters emerging on top by 69 points.
Mathoura’s defence was all over the hosts in the first half, not allowing a single goal in the first two periods.
The visitors were dominant, kicking 5.6 to the Redeyes’ solitary point in the first, before extending the lead to a massive 58 points by half-time, 9.7 (61) to 0.3 (3).
Blighty mitigated the damage in the third, managing its first major score, kicking two for the quarter to Mathoura’s three, before the Cutters added another two goals in the fourth to emerge victors 14.8 (92) to 3.5 (23).
Aron Burns delivered a phenomenal scoring performance, kicking eight goals for Mathoura in the win.
Luka Simpson was named best-on-ground for the Cutters, along with Burns, Jacob Simpson, Corey Farrell, Clinton McNabb and Jack Duggan.
The win balances the ledger for Mathoura, which has now claimed a win and a loss from its opening two matches.
The Cutters travel to Katunga in round four, on Saturday, April 20, and will be hopeful of continuing their momentum against a thus-far-winless Swans outfit.

Mathoura’s A-grade netball side also claimed its first win of the season, defeating Blighty by 12 goals.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Cutters, as the Redeyes took the game to their opposition early, the home side clinging to a one-goal margin at the first break.
In the second, Mathoura managed to turn the game in its favour, bringing the score to 17-15 by half-time. But the match was still evenly poised heading into the second half.
After the break, the Cutters established dominance and never looked back, extending the lead to seven at the final break, and winning the final quarter by five goals to take the match 39-27.
Mathoura will visit Katunga this Saturday to face a Swans side that has also split its results across the first two fixtures.
