Cats cop Colbinabbin thrashing in round three

Lockington-Bamawm United’s A-grade side suffered a resounding loss at the hands of undefeated Colbinabbin in round three of Heathcote District Netball League.

The Cats offered very little resistance against the Grasshoppers, who essentially walked them off the park in the first quarter, tallying 20 goals in the first quarter while leaving LBU with just three.

Another massive effort by Colbo saw the side put on a further 24 goals on the scoreboard in the lead up to half-time, while LBU managed to improve, scrounging seven.

Steady improvement in attack couldn’t stop the tidal wave the Cats’ defenders suffered on defence, a 19-goal third term onslaught making the lead 45 with a quarter still to play.

Six more goals was all LBU could muster, while the Grasshoppers had their quietest quarter, but still managed to find the net 16 times.
