The Friday night competition caters for a wide range of ages and abilities, with programs including Net Set Go for Prep and Grade 1 students, Rookies for Grades 2 and 3, along with Under 11, Under 13 and 14-17 Years competitions.
One of the major changes introduced for 2026 has been the shift from team entries to individual registrations in the Under 11 and Under 13 age groups.
YDNA hopes the new structure will encourage players to stay involved in netball longer by creating more balanced competitions focused on fairness, participation and enjoyment. Teams in these divisions are now formed by the association, helping ensure even contests and a positive experience for all participants.
Away from Friday night competition, YDNA’s representative netball program is also thriving.
Trials for the 2026 representative squads were held in November, with the association fielding two Under 15 teams, two Under 13 teams and, for the first time, two Under 11 teams.
Volunteer coaches have once again played a vital role, generously giving their time to support the young athletes. The representative sides have already competed in three tournaments this season, producing strong performances and impressive results.
The teams are now preparing for upcoming tournaments in Echuca before finishing their campaign at the championships in Albury later this month.
