The final of the Victorian Bowls State Champions of Pennant was held at the Moama Bowling Club at the weekend.
All bowlers enjoyed wonderful weather and true running greens.
The representative team for the Bendigo-Campaspe-Goldfields Region was the South Bendigo Bowling Club premier side.
After winning all preliminary games the South Bendigo squad was able to reverse the final result from last year's effort when they lost to Melbourne by two shots.
Making the final this year the team was pitted against the strong Ocean Grove teams featuring several past or present state bowlers.
In a nerve racking match, both teams were able to provide some sensational bowling that was witnessed by a large crowd.
The end result was a victory for the South Bendigo Diggers team by one shot, 43-42, winning just the one rink.

Ladies
May 17 was scrounge and May 24 is scrounge again for those interested with a 10am start. Please note, no-one is in office.
There is a meeting on Wednesday, May 25 — decisions need to be made by our club members (and submitted to the BCGBR by June 30) in regards to what divisions are entered for the 2022-23 pennant season.
It is important members think about which form of pennant they wish to participate in, whether it be open gender or single gender.
The amount of elected divisions entered for the mid-week pennant season has to be decided as well. This depends entirely on how many club members (women and men) wish to play mid-week.
We also need to form a selection committee for mid-week pennant. Any members willing to join this committee will be welcomed and considered.
Men
Please put your name on the lists in the foyer regarding availability for the upcoming pennant season.
We need to inform the region by June 30 so that competition can be arranged.
