In windy conditions and off the black tees, George Chabvonga had the best score of the day to win C-grade with a fine nett 65. Bruce Duncan also had a very good score to win A-grade and David Cockroft put it all together to take the C-grade honours.

Saturday, January 29:
Steven Jones is the hot A-grade golfer at the moment, again shooting well under par to claim victory. Dean Noelker had a convincing win in B-grade and many were talking about Peter Varcoe’s 11 up to win C-grade — a score which would win many four-ball event.

B-grade: Dean Noelker (plus 6), David Watt (+3), Jim Wagstaff (+2).
C-grade: Peter Varcoe (plus 11), Craig Williams (+4), James Bertram (+3).

Glenys Smith had a great round to win by a big margin over Jo Cash, who was runner-up for the second time in a row. Kate Burke’s recent good form has put pressure on husband Geoff to lift his game.

Sunday, January 30:
Eighty-seven players turned out on Sunday to form 22 teams for a Very Special Kids fundraiser on the west course.
In first place with a team score of 53.25 were Michael Wasley, Brendon Goddard, Robert Goddard and Desmond Welladsen.
Louis Stevens, Ashley Smith, Alex Stevens and Troy Boyer came in with the second best score of 54.75 and the team of Terry Werner, Kim Werner, Lyn Jefferson and Hayden Edward followed closely with 54.875.
There were longest drive prizes for men and women which were won by Alex Stevens and Phyllis Jones. Patrick Hannon had the nearest-the-pin on the eighth.
Monday, January 31:
There were some good nine-hole scores recorded on Monday with Mary Moss taking the B-grade win with the day's best score of 27 Stableford points, while Robyn Dyson won A-grade with 22.
A-grade: Robyn Dyson (22 points), Melva Howell (20), Debbie Gneil (19).
B-grade: Mary Moss (27), Lorraine Brough (21 c/b), Fran Murphy (21).
The women scooped the prize pool in the day's 18-hole medley, Marilyn Robins topping the field with 38 points and Marcia Spiers on 35 in second place on a countback to third placed Joyce Moresi.
Tuesday, February 1:
The consistent Bill Bayles broke through for a win in humid and blustery conditions on Tuesday. Michael de Jager and Wayne Campbell were not far behind. It was also a close go in B-grade with Dicky Douglas tipping out Malcolm Mitchell in a countback. Tony Lawler had the score of the day to win C-grade, a perfect warm-up for the Murray River Challenge which he dominated last year.

B-grade: Dicky Douglas (39 points), Malcolm Mitchell (39), Gary Wood (38).

Wednesday, February 2:
After the stretch of hot, humid days we've been having it was a cooler (although quite windy) day for the women's Stableford competition on the east course. Nelliette Read was top scorer for the day with her win in C-grade of 42 points, with veterans Alison McKiterick and Maree Ciavarella winning their grades with 40 and 38 points respectively.
A-grade: Maree Ciavarella (38 points), Gloria Bennett (37), Dianne Stewart (36).
B-grade: Alison McKiterick (40), Rosanne Sharp (35), Dawn McCormack (34).
C-grade: Nelliette Read (42), Jo Radford (40), Marg Sharp (39).
Nearest-the-pin: Judi Lawler, Barbara Duke and Debbie Schwarz.
Super-pin: Jo Quayle.
