On the netball court, each one of Moama’s senior and junior teams — A, B, C, C-reserve, under-17s, under-15s and under-13s — reached the finals, with all seven sides in action this weekend.
And on the football field, the seniors, reserves and under-14s each qualified for the finals after finishing inside the top six, with the trio hitting the park on Saturday and Sunday.
“We have the 10 teams in action this weekend, six on Saturday and four on Sunday, it will be very exciting,” Moama FNC president Matt Lake said.
“I think it shows the coaches’ and players’ efforts throughout the year. There is a lot that goes into it on and off the field.
Four teams took part in elimination finals in the opening week of the post-season, with the senior footballers and A-grade, under-15s and under-17s all earning crucial wins to keep their respective seasons alive.
Lake said having so many teams in the finals was evidence of all the hard work this season paying off.
“I think it shows the coaches’ and players’ efforts throughout the year. There is a lot that goes into it on and off the field,” he said.
“It is a real feather in the cap for the whole club to get 10 teams this deep into the finals, it’s fantastic. As president, I am very proud and very excited.
“The juniors are definitely the future, it is very exciting for so many junior teams to be involved.
“The teams have worked together the whole year and it has really come off, and fingers crossed they can keep going, it is a fantastic effort.”
