As the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association approaches its end Echuca Moama sides are looking to build momentum toward the finals series.

The River Rats’ Green women’s side earned a confidence boost over a title rival, defeating Shepparton Youth Club 3-2 at Shepparton Regional Hockey Complex.
Courtney Thompson replicated her season average, slotting all three goals for Echuca-Moama, while Tayah Irwin and Hunnardeep Sandhu got on the scoresheet for SYC.

The win secures the River Rats the minor premiership, now two games clear at the top with one week to go.
Echuca-Moama White had the bye at the weekend, but will make finals.
The two local sides will face off at Echuca College in the final round on Saturday.

Men
A-grade was also on a bye at the weekend, while B-grade took on Mooroopna in Shepparton.
In an upset result, bottom-ranked Mooroopna got the best of the River Rats 4-1 through goals to Rhett and Kieron Vaivars, Andrew Kennedy and fill-in Haylee Greenman.

Juniors
In the junior divisions, the regular season concluded at the weekend, with finals to begin this week.
Of the three Echuca Moama junior sides, the under-12 White outfit qualified for finals in fourth and will take on the minor premier Goulburn Valley Grammar School in a semi-final from 10.30am on Saturday in Shepparton.
