The best of Goulburn Murray Cricket will don league colours this Sunday for an inter-association showdown.
GMC will take on Murray Valley Cricket Association in a 50-over, one-day match from 10.30am at Moama Recreation Reserve, and the locals haven’t pulled any punches at the selection table.
A veritable who’s who of the McMahon Shield will take to the field, captained by former Zimbabwean international and back-to-back Graham Turner medallist Regis Chakabva, representing Bamawm-Lockington United.
The association’s current top three run-scorers, Asantha Singappuli (Echuca South), Russell Stockdale (Moama) and Sean Williams (Rochester), are also all set to feature.
The likes of Kyabram Fire Brigade paceman Jackson Barnett and Leitchville-Gunbower spinner Simon Tatt will contribute to a balanced bowling attack.
Moama leads the way in terms of representation, with the Mowers providing four of the 12 men named.
Four-time champion Echuca and Tongala are the only clubs not represented, although recent Moama recruit from Echuca’s title dynasty, Kobyn James, will feature.
