It was the first time the division one women’s team had defeated their rivals north of the border and they did it comfortably with a 4-1 victory.
The Roar settled well early into the game, though only creating a handful of half-chances.
However, it was Albury United which found the back of the net first.
Equalising, the second half saw Cobram’s Theodora Miaoudis score, assisted by a brilliant pass by Alyssa Iannucci.
It wasn't long before Miaoudis won the ball in the middle of the pitch and had a run down the right-side wing to cross one in for teammate Hayley Burn who calmly finished what was started, beating the three defenders and the keeper and giving the Roar a 2-1 lead.
Miscommunication by Albury United allowed a third goal to slip through, thanks to the work of Monique Goegan, Luana Mete and Iannucci.
Burn, in another fantastic show of footwork, scored a fourth goal for the team (and her second for the game) after defeating two defenders and the goalkeeper.
Coach Tanner Tekin said the success in the second half was due to a change in tactics which saw the Cobram players rely on their speed to run the ball down the pitch rather than kicking the ball down.
“At no stage did we feel Albury United would score for a second time especially how we were playing and how well we were defending (in the second half),” he said.
Round seven saw the senior debut of Alexia Iddles, who played alongside her sister Matilda.
The ladies winning 4 -1 takes them into Wednesday night's FA Cup semi-final against league favourites Albury Hotspurs at 7.45pm at Kelly Park Wodonga.
It was a busy weekend for the Cobram Roar as they not only played their hearts out but also ran the bar at the the Fairley Leadership - Love Your Sister Gala Dinner.
