Lowndes has been called up to Victoria’s 19-player under-21 national championships squad bound for Sydney, competing from March 22 to 29.
The former Echuca-Moama River Rats player returns to the set-up after playing a key part in the state’s silver medal campaign in Perth last year.
Victoria is hoping to go one better in Sydney after falling 2-1 to Western Australia in the medal match at that tournament.
Lowndes spent significant time on the pitch across all five games of that campaign.
The rising hockey prodigy has already accrued substantial representative hockey experience, called up for his maiden Australian Kookaburras under-21 selection in March 2022.
Lowndes made his impact felt at Victorian Premier League level as well, helping Camberwell to its first men’s title in five years in a 4-1 victory over Melbourne in September.
