The Magpies have been one of the dominant teams in the Murray Football League this season, winning all of their games so far by a margin of 50 points or more.
The Pies are on top of the ladder four rounds into the new season and will face off against a Barooga side that is down in 11th spot.
The Hawks are still chasing their first win this season, and Moama coach Sam Sheldon said he was expecting Barooga to come out all guns blazing against his side.
“They haven’t had a win and haven’t really fired a shot this year, so I dare say they’ll be looking to get on the board,” Sheldon said.
“They’ll be looking forward to coming across to Moama and having a crack at us, which will be good for us as well.”
Coming off a 51-point win over Finley last week, Sheldon said the Pies were looking solid heading into Saturday’s clash.
“We’re looking pretty well, we had a good win on the weekend, it should be a good game again,” he said.
“We’ll go in with the attitude to get better at what we do and keep fine-tuning ourselves.
“We finished the game really strongly which was good, hopefully we can carry that form into this week and continue that on for another four quarters and have a good start.”
Sheldon said there was still room for improvement, and he hoped his side could get off to a stronger start this weekend.
“We want to start off better this week, that would be ideal,” he said.
“Our ball use early will be key, I reckon we were a bit off early last week.”
Tom Sheldon will miss this weekend’s clash with a sore hamstring, but the Magpies will be bolstered by the return of Nicholas Pavlou and Jye Smith.
They are two big inclusions for the Magpies, with Pavlou and Smith both regularly featuring among Moama’s best in the early goings this season.
Moama’s rock-solid defence has been one of the keys to its success early on this year, with the Pies yet to concede six goals or more in a single game.
It will be hoping to continue that streak on Saturday when the game kicks off at 2pm.
