Add a knee reconstruction into the mix following an ACL injury and and several off-field volunteer roles to manage, 350 weeks of commitment to Tallygaroopna netball is certainly no walk in the park.
But the Redlegs’ latest major milestone achiever’s love for the sport and the club means it has been a breeze for ‘Breeza’.
Bree Boyle will play her 350th club game for the Redlegs on Saturday when Tallygaroopna host Nagambie, marking two significant milestones in three weeks at the club following Melissa Hosie’s 400th game a fortnight ago.
Nearly three years on from when the pair shared games 300 and 350 in the same month, the same can be said again in 2026.
“That’s one of the biggest things that we see at Tally, the amount of milestones,” Boyle told the News in 2023 ahead of game 300.
It’s been 23 years since Boyle first had a run around on the Tally courts - 2003, the year junior netball started in the Kyabram District League.
Since then she’s accumulated 59 games of junior action, a one-off C Reserve match, 202 C-grade appearances and 87 B-grade games tallied, soon to be 88 by Saturday afternoon.
The clash against the Lakers marks Boyle as the 10th Tallygaroopna netballer to play 350 club games.
In among the triple century and a half is a litter of accolades - three flags in four years in C-grade (2016, 2017 and 2019) as well as C-grade best and fairests in 2014, 2016 and 2024.
Off the court roles are synonymous with Boyle too, having assistant and head coached juniors in 2007, 2008, 2014, 2018 and 2022.
She currently sits as secretary for a seventh straight season since assuming the position in 2020, but has had other committee roles stretching back to 2017.
Nearly three years on from the triple ton feat, Boyle continues to prove there’s nothing that can stop a passionate player - and a fourth flag, her first in B-grade, could be on the cards this September.
Fittingly, the successful stalwart’s clash on the weekend is a top of the table match, when the 7-1 Redlegs take on the 9-0 Lakers.
A Tallygaroopna win on Saturday could pave the path towards another medal for the Boyle pool room, and add another line to the list of achievements she’s notched in red and navy blue.
