With tight contests for the minor premierships and tough battles to finish in the top eight, it is set to be an exciting run to the finals.
In football, undefeated sides Tungamah and Waaia are fighting it out for top spot, while Picola United is right in the thick of a seven-team battle to finish in one of three finals spots.
The Blues (5-5-1) are in eighth spot on the ladder and currently hold the last finals spot, but their position in the top eight is not exactly cemented.
United is two points behind Katunga (sixth) and Berrigan (seventh) and two points above Jerilderie (ninth).
Their draw against Rennie last time out could come in handy for the Blues, giving them a four-point lead over the Hoppers (10th) and a six-point advantage over Tocumwal (11th) and Deni (12th).
United doesn’t have much room for error, but it does have a favourable run home ahead of it with three games against sides below it on the ladder.
For Mathoura, 2022 has been a difficult season.
The Timbercutters sit second last on the ladder, and never really stood a chance at making the finals after a turbulent off season.
However, on the netball court Mathoura has a chance for a top eight finish, with Picola United looking likely to make the finals.
With five rounds to play the Timbercutters are in 11th — they are only two wins outside the finals spots, but their four remaining games are all against sides currently in the top eight.
Meanwhile, the Blues are in fifth spot, with their finals destiny in their own hands.
United is only one game ahead of 10th, but with all of its remaining games against sides outside the top eight, it stands a good chance of playing finals netball.
At the top of the ladder, Waaia (10-1) and Strathmerton (10-1), are neck-and-neck to finish on top, with Tungamah (9-3) hot on their heels.
Rennie (sixth), Tocumwal (seventh), Katunga (eighth), Katandra (ninth) and Jerilderie (10th) are the other sides battling it out for finals.
