Last month the Sub Juniors, Juniors and Inters from Rich River Calisthenics took to the stage in Horsham, returning home with a third place overall for the Sub Juniors, Reserve Aggregate for the Juniors and an amazing Aggregate for the Inters. The teams competed against clubs from far afield as Warrnambool, Mt Gambier and Naracoorte to name a few.
Our solo performers also achieved great success within their age groups beginning with Millah in the 10 years all the way to Lauren in the 18 years sections. The results were: Anna (1st — Graceful, HM — Physical), Paige (3rd — Graceful), Millah (HM — Physical) Jorja (HC — Graceful), Zoe (HC — Graceful and Physical), Lhydia (Development Award) and Lauren (HM — Physical).
Calisthenic involves performing four to six items depending on the age group with the four core items being march, clubs, free-arm and rods. Different age groups have a fancy item such as song and dance or dance arrangement.
Not only does our competition bring lots of sparkle to the town, but it also supports local businesses with 10 clubs from throughout Victoria visiting, consisting of 35 teams competing. Many clubs actually make it a family weekend away.
