Tongala kicked away after half-time, emerging victorious in a tense encounter with Numurkah to notch its first Murray Netball League points of the season.
The A-grade side was on the road for the first time this season and found itself in an early battle as Numurkah was able to match its fellow Blues for the first 30 minutes.
One goal separated the sides at the break, Tonny up 11-10, and Numurkah levelled things by half-time, the teams heading into the main break locked at 25.
Tongala made its move after the interval, winning the third 18-10 and further pressing the advantage in the second to eventually score a deceptively comfortable win 60-44.
Milly Brock and Chicky Vick effectively shared the scoring load for Tongala, Brock sinking 35 goals and Vick 21.
Tonny advances into midtable following the win and will now host Echuca United in round three on Saturday.
