Three grades contested the event.
A-grade winner was Gary Rodda 35 points on countback to Barry Barlow, B-grade Carol Hardman 38 points from runner-up Toby Rae 36, and the best scores were in C-grade where Ryan Bywater had 40 to win on countback to Dan Wade.
On Sunday, we had the Mixed Keno event, won by Kerran Leetham and Jack Tonta on 63.75 from runners-up Vicki and Andrew Brunker 66.
Last Thursday’s event was stableford, with a small field in wintery conditions, keeping scores low. The winner was Ross Taylor, scoring 33 points on countback to Pauline Davis.
On Wednesday, the school holidays helped bring out a bigger field of nearly 70 players.
A-grade winner was Leigh Chappell with 40 points from runner-up Ross Taylor 39, B-grade winner David Maraldo on 38 from runner-up Warren Bull 34, and in C-grade Dan Wade continued his good form to record 37 points, winning on countback to Michael Byrne.
Coming up, tomorrow we have versus par for the Bruce Laing Cup, Tuesday is 9 holes versus par, Wednesday is stableford and Thursday also stableford with the ladies competing for the Rita Barnes Goblet.
As most members would be aware, the process for removing the large ghost gum adjacent to the first tee has been finalised.
This was deemed necessary after an arborist’s assessment highlighted the tree poses a significant safety risk. It will be carried out with as little inconvenience as possible.
In the clubhouse, raffles and meals continue tonight. Raffle tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws at 7pm, and happy hour is 6pm to 7pm.
The dining room is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights with offerings from the new winter menu.
