The crews were tasked to go to Walwa and protect farms during the night at Corryong as well as take part in controlled burns.
The night shift crew was made up of volunteers from brigades in Yarrawonga, Tungamah, Cobram, Strathmerton, Nathalia and Currawa.
Another crew was also deployed last Monday night with the local tanker 2 also put to work in the fire ravaged area.
Local Mulwala man Rodney Sissons is also assisting in the fight and clean-up, volunteering with BlazeAid to rebuild fences in fire areas.
Currently there are 10 to 15 camps set up in fire areas with around 30 volunteers with Rodney offering his time for three weeks.
Appreciation and recognition should go to these volunteers who are assisting in this tragedy.
