Young people in Cohuna will have the chance to plan, deliver and attend events in their local area.
The events will promote social inclusion and the physical and mental wellbeing of youth with art exhibitions and musical and sporting events.
The Victorian Government has provided more than $220,000 to local community organisations, schools and councils across Victoria.
Of the 110 successful recipients from across Victoria, 59 events will be held in rural and regional Victoria.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp was thrilled the community had an opportunity to celebrate young people in local communities.
“They are our future, and I am proud to be part of a government that is committed to giving youth a voice through a variety of different initiatives such as Youth Summit and Youth Parliament,” he said.
It will be the third time the state has held youth week celebrations and this year more than 130 drug and alcohol free events are planned across Victoria.
The government hopes youth week, along with the youth summit, will provide the chance for young people to influence policy, services and programs that affect them.
Victorian Youth Week runs from April 3 to 12.
