Leitchville woman charged after car crash in Lockington

A Leitchville woman has been charged with various drug and driving charges after crashing into an irrigation channel at Lockington on Sunday.

Sergeant Shane Walker of Echuca police said the 30-year-old woman, believed to be speeding, lost control of her vehicle on Prairie-Rochester Road about 10.35am.

Emergency services were called to the scene.

"She escaped injury and managed to free herself from the car along with some of her belongings," he said.

"She was found with an amount of methamphetamine."

She was arrested and taken to Echuca police station for questioning.

She was charged with dangerous driving, possessing methamphetamine and other property offences and bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates' Court in February.
