A MOAMA Woolworths staff member had the four wheels on her FGX Falcon XR6 stolen in the store’s car park while she worked last night.
The XR6 is the sports model of the last Falcon made by Ford and Kate Baker said the wheels and tyres were worth about $1200 each.
The thieves left her car propped up on two bricks with its nose resting on the kerb of the car park.
She had started her shift at 7pm and cleaners reported the theft at 10.05pm as they came on duty.
An angry Ms Baker said she doubted the theft would have happened if the centre management had the car park floodlights turned on.
“Our management has been after them about the lights for safety and security but nothing has happened,” she said.
“It is so dark in winter people just drive past because they think we are closed. People have stopped shopping here.
“The complaints are coming from customers and staff – if you look where I was parked it was right under a floodlight.
“I’ve only had this car 12 months and then this happens – if the lights were on I doubt anyone would have tried to steal four wheels.”
If anyone saw anything suspicious in the Moama Woolworths between 6.45pm and 10pm they are asked to contact Moama police on 5482 0099 or make a report to Crime Stoppers at nsw.crimestoppers.com.au or on 1800 333 000.
