Women lucky to escape serious injury in Echuca crash

A 75-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital after a two-car collision in Echuca on Monday, November 16.

Sergeant Paul Nicoll of Campaspe Highway Patrol said at 11.49am the woman was turning right from High St into Darling St when she failed to give way, colliding with a south-bound car driven by a 29-year-old woman.

Paramedics assessed the older woman woman at the scene before taking her to Echuca Regional Health in a stable condition with upper body injuries.

The woman was also fined for failing to give way.

Both cars were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Traffic was redirected for about half an hour.
