Mayor Rob Amos said these grants provided support to the not-for-profit sector to deliver a range of initiatives in line with council’s vision for the shire to be strong, supportive, vibrant and sustainable.
“A maximum of $4000 can be applied for to support community groups, clubs and associations with a broad range of programs, projects and activities that benefit local residents and encourage involvement in their communities,” Cr Amos said.
Applications close at 4pm on Friday, September 15.
Applications will be assessed against set criteria.
“Funding recommendations will be based on the applicant’s initiative in terms of improving the quality of life for our residents, fostering support across of a range of interests across areas such as health and wellbeing, sports, recreation and the arts, in turn strengthening community participation,” Cr Amos said.
“I encourage community groups to plan their grant application early, and importantly speak with a council officer about your application to ensure it meets the guidelines to give it every chance of success.”
