We’ve found Fleur’s book and it’s at this art space

JOIN author Fleur Ferris and illustrator Briony Stewart for the launch and art exhibition of Nullaboo Hullabaloo.

The community is invited to The Foundry Arts Space to launch Fleur’s recent release on Friday at 6pm.

After running an illustration competition for students from 10 primary schools across Echuca-Moama, Bunnaloo, Tongala, Shepparton, Tempy and Ouyen the shortlisted artworks inspired by Nullaboo Hullabaloo will be on display on Friday night and the winner will be announced.

The 35,000-word fantasy — illustrated by Briony Stewart — tells the story of Gemma Hart and her family, who live on a farm in Nullaboo inhabited by fairies. Gemma befriends a fairy called Janomi whose grandfather has been captured by the silver spiders.

Gemma agrees to help Janomi and keep the fairies’ existence a secret, but when the secret comes out, a media frenzy takes over Nullaboo. A secret government agency barges in to take control and suddenly the fairy colony is under an even bigger threat.

Gemma and her kooky family, school and resourceful neighbours must take matters into their own hands in an against-all-odds bid to save the last fairy colony on Earth.

Fairy cake and chocolate spiders will be on the menu on Friday night and any children with a fairy or spider costume are invited to wear it.

The first copies of Nullaboo Hullabaloo will be available to buy on the night.
