A back-and-forth Murray Netball League contest has ended tied, as Echuca United and Congupna were unable to be separated in round five.
The clash was held at Echuca South Recreation Reserve and saw the Eagles make the faster start and hold a valuable 12-7 lead at quarter-time.
Congupna edged the second period by a single score as United headed into the main break up four.
The Road continued its ascent in the third levelling the ledger at 24 with one quarter to play.
Although both sides had their opportunity to snatch the lead late, neither could break the deadlock in the closing seconds as the game finished drawn at 32 goals apiece.
The result proves marginally better for Echuca United than Congupna, the Eagles retaining their place in the top six ahead of The Road after both sides went into the game 2-2.
United has had more than its fair share of the uncommon draw result in recent seasons, finishing level with Cobram twice last season.
The Eagles will also be buoyed by the head-to-head improvement, as Congupna narrowly took both of the sides’ meetings last year.
After a week off courtesy of the spilt round, Echuca United will be back in action on May 17, travelling to Deniliquin to face up to a 3-2 Rams outfit.
