Both matches were closely run, with only a single rubber between the two sides in each.
Minor premiers Loners faced up to Billy Goats in the 1v4 semi.
Despite Loners going on an undefeated regular season run, it was Billy Goats that struck the first blow, Jen Fang and Chris Hawking emerging ahead 3-1 in the opening doubles.
Hank Doller and Nathan Mackrell levelled the scores in the second doubles, just sneaking by 11-7, 7-11, 11-3, 0-11, 11-9 to set up a deciding block of singles.
Mackrell and Phil Higgins got the job done for Loners with singles wins, sending Billy Goats home despite Fang’s win in the remaining rubber.
Doubles teamwork was the name of the game for Earth Wind and Fire as it upset DJB in the other semi-final.
EWF would claim both doubles rubbers, Kevin Mao and Rob Russell edging out Div Mallya and Jolene Doller 3-2 in the first before Mao paired with Harvey Griffiths for a more confident 3-0 win in the second.
With three singles to play, DJB needed all three wins to steal the victory, but Russell proved the hero for EWF, securing the important sixth rubber for his side and the win.
Loners and Earth Wind and Fire are now set to clash for the championship on Wednesday from 7pm.
The regular season meeting was one of Loners’ tighter wins of the season, the minor premier escaping with the win 6-5 despite losing both doubles against an EWF outfit that included a substitute.
