Men’s
In the men’s League 2, the Border Raiders were coming off a dominant opening performance against Deniliquin, but were brought back to earth against Golden City.
The Border Raiders were still in the contest throughout the first half at Shadforth Park in Bendigo, a quick burst of two Win Boe goals early giving Golden City a 2-0 lead which they held until the break.
Boe struck again just after the break to complete his hat-trick, but the locals kept a glimmer of hope alive when Samuel Wanesiofa got Echuca-Moama on the board.
Golden City continued to get the ball in to Boe and he delivered once again with a fourth for the match just three minutes after Wanesiofa got the Border Raiders back in it.
Two red cards throughout the game reduced the Border Raiders to nine for the closing minutes, and Golden City got two more through the local’s defences for a 6-1 final result.
Boe would finish with five strikes, while Morteza Jafari added the remaining goal.
