I happen to really like winter. Therefore, a cold sunny morning frost makes me happy. The air is fresh and clear and I find myself looking forward to the day a head.
My wife on the other hand does not like winter. For her a cold sunny morning frost means many layers of clothes. It is the same day, we just view it differently.
How do you view God? Some view him as a scary being waiting for us to mess up so He can punish us. Jesus once said if you want to see the Father, look at Jesus’ ministry.
Many people look at God through Jesus and find God loving and desiring a relationship with us. How we view God will determine how we relate to God.
At church we have been doing a series on the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts. When a person accepts Jesus as their lord and savior then God the Holy Spirit comes to share in all areas of our life. He is there to help us. He is there to be our friend.
How do you view God? For me I have to start with the incredible biblical truth that God loves us. Do you know why this is amazing? I don’t deserve God’s love, yet the Bible says God is love and gives that love to me. It also says God loved me so much He allowed His son to die for me. Wow!
Have you ever had anyone who cheered you on in life? Perhaps it was a parent or a coach or a teacher or a friend. Someone who had your back and wanted the best for you? That’s such an amazing gift.
God gives us the Holy Spirit and He is better than any parent, coach, teacher or friend. He is for us and nothing can stand against us when we trust Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
How do you view God? He doesn’t just love us. He gives us gifts to live for him. Every follower of Jesus is gifted to serve and make a difference in the Kingdom of God. In our series at church we have looked at the truth that God provides the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts. That is pretty loving.
How do you view God? He gives us the gift of salvation. He gives us the gift of His presence. He gives us the gifts of serving and ministering. If we view God as the one who blesses, we will be blessed. Can I encourage you to learn how to view God? Start with reading in the New Testament about Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. You might even like to go to church. Most importantly you might ask God to reveal Himself to you. God loves you.
