It conducts the Easter Fair, Christmas Carols and Australia Day events.
A not-for-profit organisation, it acknowledges generous support from Murray River Council, local businesses and other sponsors who enable it to share any profits with the local community.
Recipients include the Mathoura Public School graduating class of 2024 who received graphics calculators to help ‘kick start’ their entry into secondary education.
Another donation has been made towards a much needed project to protect elderly members of our community
It will aid the purchase of security lights to be installed at the Mathoura Retirement Village in a bid to stop break-ins and theft from the elderly members of our community.
The committee acknowledges the support it receives from the local and wider communities and visitors without whom it would not be able conduct the various events.

Mathoura has lost a popular long term local with the recent death of Val Valuntas.
Valerie Opal Valuntas, aged 93, was the wife of John (dec) and loving mother of Leonie, Maree and John (dec).
A funeral service for her will be held at the Holy Cross Anglican Church, Cnr Livingstone and Steven Sts on Tuesday, July 29 at 11.30am.
The service will be followed by a burial at the Mathoura Pioneer Cemetery.

Mathoura Public School has opened its doors for the final semester of the year.
And it is already preparing for next year by seeking enrolments for 2026.

Congratulations to Damian and Staci Froon on the birth of a son.
Levi Froon arrived on July 21 and is a brother for Adi.
He is also the 13th grandchild for Lisa and Tony Froon. Now that’s a handful!
