Six teams won both their games, starting with Greg Clymo/Jim Harris (+3), Jim Ferrier/Eddie Blampied (+8), Geoff Tinning/Peter Kesson (+11), Lal Whyte/John Blair (+13), runners-up Trevor Liddell/Dick North (+15), and the winners Philip and Mal Thorn (+16).
The best one game went to Bruce O’Neale/Trevor Nagorcka (+13).
Sixteen bowlers attended Intersport-sponsored Friday Scroungers, where Jill Young took home the voucher from newcomer Mark Bainbridge.
Weekend Pennant was a real mixed bag with three wins, a draw, a loss and a bye.
Division one drew with Mathoura up there, 51-all with two winning rinks, hence a 9/7 points result to see them hold top spot on percentage from Stanhope.
Best rink was Philip Thorn (s), Matt Brighton, Trevor Nagorcka and Ivan Hicks 20-17.
Division two had the bye and is currently in fifth position.
Division three, who have been struggling of late, travelled to Elmore and had a comfortable 22-shot win (74-52) with all three rinks up.
Best rink was Trevor Rickard (s), new member Gordon Simmon, Max Clifford and Ken Main (30-18).
The threes are now in fifth, 4 points behind Rochester, who they play tomorrow. (Saturday).
Division 4 defeated Mathoura, at home, by one shot, (63-62) (14-2).
Best were Keith Robertson (s), Eddie Smith, Steve (Knockers) Nolan and Robert Taylor (28-17).
They are currently third on the ladder behind Moama and Kyabram.
Division 5 Blue defeated Stanhope at home (42-20) winning both rinks.
Best rink was Dennis Smith (s), Andrew Humphrys, Bluey Charman and Ian Jones (21-14).
White lost to Deniliquin Blue up there by two shots (45-47), halving the rinks.
Best were Kevin Bursill (s), Graham Johnston, Mike Redapple and Noel McMaster (28-14).
Blue are fourth and White are eighth on the ladder at present.
Monday’s social bowls were called off because of the rain.
There was no midweek pennant this week because of the Melbourne Cup holiday.
Mini bingo again failed to go off and continues at $4000 tonight at drinks and nibbles between 4 and 6pm.
The members draw was won by Greg Clymo who wasn’t there to collect his prize so it jackpots to $60 tonight.
The next tournament is the Charlie Williams sponsored Open Twilight Triples (two bowls) to be held on Wednesday, November 19 at 5pm.

Rich River Bowls Club
There was a great turnout to the annual Men’s 5 A-side Tournament recently, with all three greens in use.
Teams travelled from far and wide and competed in trying conditions with wind and showers to contend with on day one.
Very special thanks to the organisers and volunteers involved in the event.

Weekend Pennant- November 1
Rich River, playing at home, found the going tough against Moama on Saturday going down 45-1 to 80-15.
Keith Hewitt with his team including Alan Polak, Norm Hodge and Eugine Xodo had to battle it out and managed to secure an 18-all draw on their rink.
In Division two, Rich River 57-14 were successful for the day, taking a win over Deniliquin 53-2 in a close match by 4 shots, giving them their second win for the season so far.
Denis Demeo’s team of Gerry Devlin, John Langley and John Hart secured an 8-point win.
Division 3 were fortunate to maintain third place on the ladder despite going down to Moama 54-0 to 76-16.
Moama 69-16 again proved too strong for Rich River 43-0 in Division 4.
Well done to George Clarence, Peter Hingston, Sean McCallig and Adrian Costello, missing out by a mere 2 shots on their rink.
In Division 5, yet another Moama contest and Barry Kelly, Heather Freeman, Cath Kelly and Peter Preston took out a draw - 21 each yet it was not enough to get across the line overall, going down to Moama 38-1 to 47-13.
There was no midweek pennant played this week due to the Melbourne Cup holiday.

Lockington Bowls Club
The fine weather on the weekend provided excellent conditions for the round of Campaspe Area Pennant.
Our club fought gallantly to secure the premiership points, however a couple of divisions just failed to register victories.
Division five flew the flag after defeating a determined Rochester squad 38-34 in a high-standard contest.
Division three journeyed to Stanhope to do battle and were a little unfortunate to lose after winning two of the three rinks and failing by three shots 52-55, (Steve Pavone d. P Harris 19-13; Leanne McInnes l.t. B Williams 14-24; John Fisher d. K Hoppner 19-18).
Division four trekked to Deniliquin RSL, and lost the match 61-65 in another close contest with no rink wins, (Denise Gilmore l.t. R Reid 20-26; Shane Felmingham l.t. N Hilton 17-26; Cindy Felmingham l.t. R Marchetti 18-19).
Division five celebrated their first victory for the season, recording a four-shot win against Rochester after surviving a late surge from the home team.
In a game of fluctuating fortunes, our teams held a 30-14 shot lead at the halfway point, before the opposition made a gallant late charge to trail by two shots on the main board with just one end left.
The Leon Laffy rink was able to pick up two shots to help the club to victory.
Final scores Lockington 38 to Rochester 34, (Kalvin Stout d M McArdle 19-13; Leon Laffy l.t. J Limbrick 19-21).
Last Tuesday, the Barefoot bowls attracted a quality field to contest a game of 2x4x2 pairs.
The winning pair was Mel Freeman - Ian Haines with a win and a loss, +3 shots ahead of Kim Ray - Jeff Carnie, win/loss, +1 shot.
Members enjoyed the Sixty and Over competition at Stanhope on Wednesday, with the Leon Laffy rink winning the prized Chooks. Well done.
During the week, a team comprising Steve Pavone, Shane Felmingham and Francis Keech (Rochester) played the Eaglehawk Bowling Club Triples event.
Producing some near perfect bowls from all bowlers, they just failed to qualify for the play-offs due to a lack of shots up.
Members are reminded to add their names to the club championship games to be started shortly.
The Social Club delivered a serving of KFC on Friday evening after the practice session. Thanks to the organisers.
The lucky tatts supplementary competition is again in operation.

Weekly Highlights
Ray Kissell came in over the top of Steve Edwards and Stew Mancer to win the October Privilege Cup on Saturday.
Tony Freeman had the best score of the day on Thursday a fine nett 65.
Nacole Horneman, fresh from her recent runner-up in the Club Championships, won the Friday par event.
It was a close ladies' event on Saturday with Karen Mose edging out Rita Freestone and Pam Heywood for the win.
Wayne Sperling, Grant Fitzgerald and Angus Clyne were all on the winners list on Sunday in the Stableford event.
Debora Patterson was runner-up on Monday last week and went one better on Cup eve.
Jeff Ridge easily had the score of the day on Melbourne Cup day to win by the length of the straight.
Shannon Cronin made up the quinella in A-grade.
Deiter Zeissner had his hoof on the till in B-grade, and John Clancy won by a nose in C-grade.
Ruth Turpin and Ellen Banko had a blinder in the 4BBB Nett event on Wednesday.
They won by a big margin over one of the best fourball pairings in the club, Nacole Horneman and Marcia Spiers.

Rochester Golf Club
Wednesday 9-hole social golf was Stableford on the front nine.
The winner, with 24 points, was Lee Hicks, shooting 1 over.
Des Hocking and Les Hedington have been playing well recently and were both on 22 points; Hocking won on a countback.
Next best were Graeme Chapple, Chris Eeles and Mike Austin, all on 21 Stableford points; Hedington was closest to the pin on the 3rd.
A good field of 12 pairs braved the inclement weather for the first Friday evening 2-person Ambrose event played over a composite course, combining 4 front nine and 5 back nine holes.
Winners were Louise and Chris Eeles, net (28.66), and runners up were Ben Hubbard/Leigh Hartshone (29.5), followed by the duo of David Harris/Brent Sweeney (29.75).
Next best was Bruce Bryant and partner Neil Coghill on net 30.25.
Nearest-the-pins went to Sweeney on 8 and 16, Louise Eeles was closest to the line down the 10th fairway.
Closest to the pin on the tough now adjusted Par 3 15th has "jackpotted", so come and try your luck, hit off is from 5pm sharp.
Robert Ralph, dressed in his home-printed Halloween shirt and special bright yellow golf shoes, scared everyone off by winning with a great round of 39 Stableford points last Saturday.
Runner-up was Andy Purdy (37) on a countback from Will Coghill, and next best were Shane Wolfe (35), President Lee Hicks (34), with several others on 33 Stableford points.
Robert Ralph 5 and 18, Purdy, 18 and Robert Vise hit a nice shot to the 16th to be the other nearest-the-pin winner.
The Stableford best 4 out of 5 scores over the last few weeks went to a worthy winner in Bruce Bryant, a total of 155 points, from the unlucky Les Hedington (153) and young Will Coghill on 152.
After early watering and the nice rainfall, we will continue to run Saturday golf, playing off the front white tee markers, with hit off from 11am.
The course committee will monitor the conditions and determine whether to alternate 9's over summer or keep 18 holes open.

GVCA Pennant- Wednesday, October 29
Rich River White Shepparton
The doubles game saw Rich River White’s Kenn Boal and Cherie Lessing team up to play against Shepparton’s Kerri-Ann Organ and Kevin Milner, with Rich River White taking the match 1 game +19 hoops to Shepp’s +14 hoops.
The next doubles match was much closer, with RR White’s Doc Ryant and Bev Floyd scoring 1 game +9 hoops to Shepp’s Trish Pedrotti and Marg Gleeson’s +8 hoops.
The score after the first match was RR White 2 games +28 hoops to Shepp’s +22 hoops.
The singles saw Rich River White win three of the four games.
Shepp’s Kerri-Ann Organ was in fine form defeating RR White’s Kenn Boal 1 game +26 hoops to 5 hoops.
Rich River White 3 games +43 hoops to Shepp’s 1 game +50 hoops.
The final score was Rich River White 5 games 71 hoops defeated Shepparton 1 game 72 hoops.
This win puts Rich River White on top of the ladder.
There is one week to go, and Rich River White and Quarry Hill will face each other in what will be a preview of the grand final.
Rich River Blue v Quarry Hill
The doubles matches saw Quarry Hill’s Chris Eiffert and Brian Wallin defeat Rich River Blue’s Russell Smyth and Fred Littmann 1 game +18 hoops to +16 hoops.
Quarry Hill’s Bruce Shaw and Bernie Lacey defeated Rich River Blue’s John James and Greg Brierley 1 game +11 hoops to +6 hoops.
The singles matches saw a change of fortune with Rich River Blue winning three of the four matches.
The score was Rich River Blue 3 games + 60 hoops to Quarry Hill 1 game + 39 hoops.
Rich River Blue defeated Quarry Hill three games, 82 hoops to three games, 62 hoops.
Golf Pennant – first semi final- Deniliquin v Rich River Kangas
The first singles games saw the Kangas Cherie Lessing and Lyn Keillor win their match against Deni’s John James and Leo Barry, with Deni’s Fred Littmann and Garry Brose winning their match against the Kangas’ Helen Brierley and Sandra Retallick.
Both teams ended up two games +21 hoops apiece.
The reverse singles saw the Kangas win 3 games, +26 hoops to Deni’s 1 game + 18 hoops.
In the first doubles matches, Cherie Lessing and Helen Brierley from the Kanga’s teamed up to play against Deni’s John James and Fred Littmann with Deni taking the match with 1 game +7 hoops to +4 hoops.
The Kangas’ Lyn Keillor and Sandra Retallick played against Deni’s Leo Barry and Garry Brose, with Deni once again taking the match 1 game +7 hoops to +4 hoops.
The second doubles matches saw the Kangas win both games, with Cherie Lessing and Lyn Keillor defeating John James and Leo Barry 1 game +7 hoops to +3 hoops, and Helen Brierley and Sandra Retallick defeating Fred Littmann and Garry Brose 1 game +7 hoops to 1 hoop.
Final Score was Kanga’s 7 games + 69 hoops defeating Deniliquin 5 games + 57 hoops.
The other semifinal in the Golf Croquet Pennant saw the Shepparton Kookaburras defeat the Euroa Rams and head straight into the grand final.
With the Echuca Kangas defeating Deniliquin, they now head to the Preliminary Final to play against the Euroa Rams, which will be played on November 6 in Shepparton.
Golf Croquet- Thursday, October 30
Fourteen people played doubles golf croquet on half courts this morning with two people winning all three games, Bob Barclay and Russell Smyth.
Russell Smyth took the win, scoring 3 games +9 hoops on a countback to Bob Barclay runner-up 3 games +9 hoops.
Congratulations to both Russell and Bob.
Helen Smith and Bob Barclay both made jump shots this morning.
Golf Croquet- Tuesday, November 4
12 players turned up to play croquet on half courts this morning , with wet weather putting a dampener on matches at times.
Congratulations to Ian Grant who was the only player to win all three games - scoring three games +5 hoops, with the runner-up Helen Brierley scoring two games +3 hoops.
Kyabram Pigeon Club
The Kyabram Racing Pigeon Club was back for another day of action on Saturday, November 1, this time travelling to Quorn and Peterborough, South Australia for the second time in as many weeks.
The Quorn race saw 42 birds representing seven trainers, with pigeons making the interstate journey back to their owner’s lofts.
Echuca Village’s Rod Clark topped the standings on this occasion, his charges reaching an average velocity of 681.536.
Kyabram East’s Gary Beavis and Echuca’s Ray and Rosea Armstrong rounded out the podium with their birds clocking in velocities of 677.25 and 662.484, respectively.
In the Peterborough event, 70 birds represented nine trainers as Rod Clark bagged the double, his charges reaching a velocity of 601.557 with M.P Racing (597.769) and Ray and Rosea Armstrong (588.431) rounding out the podium.
